To become wealthy and live the life of your dreams, you’re going to have to think outside the box and choose a path in life that is very different from everyone else around you. Most people work as little as possible and spend every dollar they earn – and then some – and as a result, they will never attain the level of financial wealth that they desire.
But you will be different.
Let’s be realistic: you can’t get there simply by investing 15% of your paycheck in mutual funds. That can be part of the equation, but to achieve a high level of wealth and retire while you’re still young enough to enjoy it, you’ll need to work more hours than your peers while simultaneously spending less money than they do. You must make sacrifices to become wealthy. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise.
The most effective and realistic way to double or triple your income is to become an entrepreneur, and starting a business on the side is easier and cheaper today than at any other time in history. Take stock of your skills and start a freelance business in the next 90 days. Then commit to putting in the hours. Eliminate activities in your life that waste time – such as endless hours of video games and movies – and invest those hours in yourself.
Once you’ve built up a steady stream of income as a freelancer, start looking for ways to scale up your business. Outsource some of your workload to freelancers overseas. Hire a virtual assistant. Look for ways to leverage your income so that you can make more money in less hours.
That is your path to wealth:
- reduce living expenses
- start a freelance business
- work on business several hours every day/night
- outsource to accelerate business growth
